What’s So Special About the iPad 3?
The better question to ask about the iPad 3 is what’s NOT so special about it, because that list is actually harder to answer. However, much of what is known about the iPad 3 is rumor because details have only been released in minimal amounts. The possibility of its release occurring in Fall of 2011 was spoken of and never confirmed, but very recent changes have meant that the absolute earliest it will be available will be Spring of 2012.
What to Expect
The iPAD 3 is said to be about 20% smaller than its predecessor. It will be both thinner and sleeker and will carry a smaller battery. The bad news there is that when you need to replace that battery one day, it will probably cost at least 20% more than it would in a current model. It has been said by reliable sources that this model will present with a wireless charging technology.
iPad 3 Specs
The iPad 3 is expected to come with the latest iOS5 which will include the latest multi-touch gesture technology. In addition, it will present with an astonishing 264 pixels per inch and a total resolution of 2048 x 1536 Retina Display. There is also the possibility of its recording and then being able to put out a 3D image, with the use of a HDMI cord. The iCloud technology is definitely going associated with the iPad 3, which will allow users to save pictures, music and data on iTunes without needing to save it to a particular device.
Camera Information
You’re going to see an improved camera on this device, since earlier cameras on iPads didn’t inspire much enthusiasm. You’ll see LED flash and a 5 MP camera with either 1080p or 720 video recording quality. This model is expected to have a much better camera and recording capabilities.
The Price and Availability
The release date of the iPad 3 has not been confirmed yet, but as mentioned above, it is thought to be Spring of 2012. It’s important to put reservations in as soon as possible, when that date becomes available because they are probably going to be selling out quickly. Previous releases have had customers standing in line all night, the night before to get their item. It is expected that the iPad 3 will be at least as expensive as previous editions were, but there have been no official comments as to its price yet.
